Paul Destito

Paul Destito is a recently retired Palm Beach County music teacher and longtime local private instrumental tutor. A graduate of the Crane School of Music in Potsdam New York, and Northern Illinois University in Dekalb Illinois, Mr. Destito has studied under Tony Maiello, Elliot DelBorgo and Arnold Jacobs. He has been a member of the Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Rockford Symphony Orchestra and numerous local musical organizations.

Mr. Destito has enjoyed a long and distinguished teaching career in Florida.  He is a nine-time teacher of the year in Martin and Palm Beach counties and a four-time Educational Foundation of Palm Beach County Dwyer Award finalist for excellence in teaching. In May of 2019 Mr. Destito was named the winner of the Educational Foundation of Palm Beach County Dwyer Award for Excellence in Middle School Teaching.

In Florida, Mr. Destito has served as Assistant Band Director at South Fork High School, Band Director at Indiantown Middle School, Adjunct Professor of Music at Indian River State College and has recently retired from his 20-year position as director of the Jupiter Middle School band.  He is widely sought after as an adjudicator, clinician, and guest conductor.  Under his direction the Jupiter Middle School Band achieved wide acclaim, winning top honors at national and international music competitions, and earning consistent superior ratings at Florida Bandmasters Association Music Performance Assessments.
