James Binion, Jr.

James Binion, Jr. is a graduate of Morehouse College and Cleveland State University. He began singing at a young age with the Atlanta Boy Choir. With them he has toured England, Scotland, Germany, Italy, Russia, Finland, Canada, and the United States. James sang with the world renowned Morehouse College Glee Club and served as the group’s student director during his tenure.  Continuing this long tradition of performance, James was invited to travel to France and Spain with the Atlanta Opera Chorus to perform Porgy and Bess at the Opera Comiqué in Paris, France,  Alhambra in Granda, Spain, and Théâtre de Caen in Caen, France in 2008.  He had the honor of singing for an international broadcast recognizing NASA and John Glenn during a program entitled ” Celebrating 50 years of Americans in Space” in 2012.  Throughout his career, James has performed principle roles from La Bohème, The Magic Flute, The Bartered Bride, Madam Butterfly, Don Pasquale, and Porgy and Bess.
