Beni Salvia
Piano Lessons, Trumpet & Brass Lessons
Beni Salvia picked up his first trumpet at 9 years old in Jupiter FL, 15 years later his passion for music has maintained its childlike sincerity and he is eager to inspire that same passion in his students. His dedication from the very beginning would later be rewarded with principal trumpet positions in Florida’s All-State and District ensembles nearly every year he auditioned for them. Beni was a semifinalist in the National Trumpet Competition in 2012 and 2013, taking home the 3rd place prize in 2012. He also was the recipient of the 2nd place prize at the GVSU International Trumpet Solo Competition in 2015. That same year Beni was offered scholarships at nearly every major music conservatory on the east coast including New England Conservatory, Manhattan School of Music, NYU Steinhardt, Mannes School of Music at The New School, and The Juilliard School.
Beni moved to NYC in the Fall of 2015 to pursue his BM in Trumpet Performance at Juilliard, where he would study with Raymond Mase and Mark Gould, former principal trumpet players of the New York City Ballet and Metropolitan Opera, respectively. It was at Juilliard where Beni began to mature as a musician, he frequently found himself leading the trumpet section of The Juilliard Orchestra under the baton of Alan Gilbert, David Robertson, Masaaki Suzuki, Thomas Adѐs, David Stern, Peter Oundjian and many more. Beni also began his teaching career at Juilliard with the pre-college program, frequently coaching middle and high school students in Brass Quintet and Orchestra. After Graduating from Juilliard in 2019, he was accepted into the graduate program at the Schulich School of Music at McGill University, where he currently studies with Richard Stoelzel, and teaches undergraduate students. Beni was slated to perform as a soloist with McGill’s Contemporary Music Ensemble however the Covid-19 lockdown ultimately lead to the performance being cancelled. Beni currently performs with the South Florida Symphony, the Palm Beach Opera, and the Punta Gorda Symphony.
