Teresa Olowin has always loved music and studied music at JAM for 11 years. She began private lessons in piano at 6 years old and voice lessons at 8. After graduating high school, she acquired her Bachelor’s degree in Music with a Specialization in Music Education from Barry University in May 2021. While in Miami she interned for half of a year as an assistant teacher for group piano before being hired as a group and private piano teacher. She has been teaching piano since September 2018. In addition, due to quarantine from Covid-19, she has 2 years of experience in online instruction allowing her to be proficient in both online and in-person instruction. Through education and practical experience, she is also well versed in Kodály and Gordon’s methods. Teresa’s philosophy is that music is not about perfecting a single piece but instead aspiring to be musically literate and have a solid foundation in music application.
