PIANO LESSONS at Jupiter Academy of Music

PIANO students may begin in our piano department at the age of four through adulthood.  All levels are taught and all styles of music are taught, in either group, private, or a combination of group and private lessons.

1.  Group instruction is highly recommended for all beginning students kindergarten through second grade, and meets 45 minutes per week. Experience has shown that the group environment is a psychologically sound atmosphere for the younger child and promotes a broader understanding, increased motivation and frequent performance opportunities, not to mention the fun of learning with others. Group instruction also has many benefits for the shy student's development in self-esteem and self-confidence. After level 2B, the student may choose to continue with group or move to private lessons.  For more information on group click on the Group Piano page.

2.  Private instruction is offered for students beginning at four years of age through adult.  The beginning student has a thirty-minute lesson per week. Depending upon the commitment, ability, and level, students are encouraged to extend their weekly lesson time to 45 or 60 minute lessons. Many of our students annually participate in evaluations such as the American College of Musicians’ Piano Guild Auditions, and the Florida State Music Teachers’ Association program - Student Day.

Piano is offered for the adult student.
