Musikgarten© is a music and movement program for children ages 6 months to 9 yrs. and their parents or caregivers. Parents and children sing, dance, and use simple instruments as the teacher helps them build a musical foundation for the child. Children learn tonal and rhythm patterns, solfege, musical intervals, pitch, beat, and music dynamics (such as tempo). And it's fun! When children begin piano lessons and start to read music around age six, they catch on quickly, thanks to research-based Musikgarten techniques. Tradition-rich international folk songs are used in a sequential, age-appropriate curriculum.

Our lead teacher, Susan Fonger, has 18 years experience in education, and she studied with renowned music educators James and Jane Bastien in New Orleans. She has taught group and private piano lessons for many years (since 1968).
